The Basics
The key to achieving true content and feeling fulfilled is to understand what aspects of your life are in need of assistance. The truth is, living a balanced life is very simple and often overcomplicated. It breaks down into three sections: Physical wealth , Emotional wealth, and Social wealth. Imagine an equilateral triangle; if one side is much shorter than the others then it is not balanced anymore. This same analogy can be applied to life, and I am here to help you rebalance your wealth triangles.
Physical wealth breaks down into three categories: diet, fitness, and sleep. Diet doesn't necessarily mean restricting everything you eat in order to lose weight. Diet is a broad topic that encompasses vitamins, superfoods, probiotics, as well as eating whole foods and limiting processed foods. Fitness can mean something different to everyone, but the main idea is to increase heartrate and metabolism to benefit your own body's functions and prevent disease. The last category is sleep. Although sleep is sometimes disregarded as impactful, its advantages are significantly understated. Getting enough sleep enhances learning and concentration, and a deficit in sleep could be the cause of poorer mood, memory, and judgment.
Emotional wealth breaks down into two main categories: journaling and self-help. These may seem to be very similar, but I assure you they have their differences. Beyond simply reducing stress. Writing in a journal improves brain function and can help guide goal-setting. Taking time out of your day to journal gives your mind the break it needs to increase your emotional wealth. Self-care, or self-help, is essential to feeling satisfied for a long time because, as I mentioned before, it is your body's method of resetting your emotions. The importance of self care is more commonly recognized now as people incorporate it more and more into their lives by influence of social media.
Social wealth can be often overlooked as well as overprioritized as having an impact of your content. Social wealth breaks down into hobbies and relationships. Hobbies may not seem like they are a part of social wealth, but hobbies can allow you to connect with other people and even develop soft skills that you use in social situations throughout your life. Having healthy relationships is important, but having romantic relationships are not a cure all and are not needed in order for you to feel content. In fact, all relationships once established merely act as the glue, pulling every other fulfilled aspect together, in order to make you feel socially wealthy.
